Although built at the end of the thirties with rapid architectural modernisation processes underway, Lloyds office retains the monumentality and the classic tectonics characteristic of Kaunas architecture at that time. However, it is interesting to note the layout of the first and the second floors – the premises are not separated by load-bearing walls. The hall, employee desks and the director’s office are separated by light partitions. It is a quite modern solution. The third floor was designed as a very luxurious residential apartment with two bedrooms, a maid’s room and a roof platform. The basement was to fit in various facilities: a canteen, apartments for the janitor and the courier, an archive, a hideout and other smaller facilities. The interior still contains quite a few authentic details (one of them can be seen on the outside – a window with Lloyd company’s symbolism).
