One of the most significant existing architectural examples of that period in the city of Kaunas. The stylistics is most obviously seen in the volumetric solution of the object, which is characteristic of historistic examples of the architecture of such functional type. The division of the object into three parts is evident both in the interior and the exterior of the object: the central and side wings surrounding it are the most massive. The representative significance of the central part is underlined by the monumental staircase reminding one of the pedestal of the Church of Michael Archangel in Kaunas. The programme of the décor as compared with the orthodox style of "social realism" is rather simple: The décor of plant ornaments prevails; the columns are simplified, rectangular. No political themes characteristic of that time period is used in the mouldings of the décor. In 2005-2008, the railway station was reconstructed.
